Glad you all enjoyed the video...some seemed as shocked as I was! It was a bit surreal! I'm just happy I caught it on video!
Texas Belle. All I knew about her when I got her from the breeder is that her mom could jump a 6 foot fence from standing position! We have a 7 foot fence, and worry that she may attempt that at some point. The tree she climbed was a little more than 5 1/2 feet on the first ledge.
Smatulewicz- They actually both take turns with the dominant role, however, you are correct, Maybrie wears the pants the majority of the time with him! Kaido is lazy and laid back, but LOVES to be outside, and paces when inside for too long. He is quiet in his kennel though when we have to put him there. He also LOVES to cuddle. Maybrie is super high energy and never stops running or jumping when outside, and she is TOUGH! Kaido outweighs her by 20-25 pounds, but she can rough and tumble with the best of them! It's no wonder she broke her pelvis as a pup. I think she would LOVE agility! The coolest thing about her is her "off " switch. She can go from spunky to 0 immediately upon entering the house. She will sit in a chair watching ouside the window, or just resting calmly. She is not as cuddly, but loves to come up for hugs and will sit next to us. She is SUPER sweet!
Smylinacha- Yes, she was proud! I really wish I could have gotten some video a little closer up. I tried later, but she jumped down every time I went outside, and she wouldn't climb up when I was outside. She knew she was up to no good! They are smart! I think she really might love agility. She has so much drive, and apparently, really loves to jump! Wish I didn't have a full time night job....urgghh!
Nancy D- Lol!! Yes, they do rub off on each other! Maybrie and Lucy would have great fun together!
Therozypozy-Demetre126-Vnrose53 Thanks...yes, their behavior and silly antics never cease to amaze me! I truly love this breed! They keep me on my toes, but for different reasons than any other breed! I too am happy I caught it on video. I can tell by the bark that she has been trying for awhile, but I just never caught it prior to this. She didn't climb it at all yesterday to my knowledge, so perhaps the challenge has been conquered, and she will find a new trick! Oh boy!
Kpwlee- I would LOVE to see those pics!! Are they posted anywhere?
Everbell- I will look that name up for sure! Thanks!
Thanks for watching! I'm just as amazed as you are....it is just wierd. A dog in a tree! Who would've thought! Our plan is to eventually replace that tree with another tree. It is a Holly Berry tree, and drops horrible sticky stuff all over the place. I would like to get an orange and a lemon tree. Hopefully they won't try to climb the fruit trees! We have a 1/2 acre back yard, and only 1 tree and a pool. The pool is coming OUT soon, by choice! These pups have plenty of running space, and yet Maybrie chooses to climb a tree! What a silly nut! Kaido is too lazy! Lol! Even on the bike runs, Maybrie sprints for a good 10 minutes now. Kaido does a fast lope for about 2 minutes and takes it down to a trot! Lol! It's amazing how different they can be! Love them both to death for who they are!
