Took Rowdy on a quick afternoon duck hunt today before the Niners game.  Shot 2 hen mallard in an hour-and-a-half and lost a bull sprig that went down, dove and never came back up.  Rowdy made great retrieves on the mallard, one of which was a swimming retrieve to hand, the other he got out of the weeds and dropped at my feet.  Very pleased with him, especially for only 7 months.  He was shivering though and with winter coming I'm going to pick him up a wet suit in the next day or two from Wholesale Sports.
