I have been checking the forum for a while now and have learned a lot about the breed. We are from New Orleans. We got Zoe from Southwind German Shorthaired Pointers in San Marcos Texas. She is our first GSP. Zoe is a typical GSP and is obsessed with tennis balls. She loves to play with toys and doesn't destroy stuffed ones. She loves to play in the rain and run through puddles. Baths are not her favorite thing but she will close her eyes and sleep through them. I will attempt to post some pictures soon. Zoe is about 16 months now. She has completed some obedience classes and is currently enrolled in agility classes. In November, she will hopefully start flyball classes. I do bring her to the local dog park where she has a met a couple of GSPs. I find she plays very well other GSPs. We have 300 acres in north Mississippi with a camp that we do take her to. She loves the outdoors and being outside. We are not bird hunters but we do hunt deer so my husband is working with her for blood trailing.

Welcome to the forum.  I have Java whose sire is Southwind's American Pie.  I live on the northshore of Lake Pontchartain and I too train with Julie in agility and hope to make it to the earlier classes to meet Zoe and the other two GSPs she has told me about.

I wish Java did not destroy her toys,  but despite her soft mouth on the retrieve, she will destroy a toy in no time!

Would love to see some photos.

Roz.

Welcome to the forum. I am good friends with Pat, your breeder. Halo, Ringo, and Fauna (three of my dogs) are cousins to your girl. I even visited Pat's puppies when they were babies. Which color was she? I am sure I played with her when she was little. I was laughing about the stuffed toys. My boy, Ringo, is a master destroyer. The girls aren't as bad, but they will help him if they are around when he gets into destruction mode. Java is out of my last breeding, and is sister to my girl, Fauna. Halo was the one I bred to Pat's boy Southwind American Pie (Buddy). Can't wait to see Pictures as I always love to see the puppies all grown up. The sire of your girl is one of my favorites. I have loved Sly since he was a little squirt.

Thanks for the welcome. I would love to meet you and your dogs Roz
Julie had mentioned that you had one from Southwind.

Texas Belle - Zoe was red. That is awesome that you got to play with her. I was honored to be able to get her from Pat We did a lot of research on breeders and was happy when we found Southwind .
Her official name is " Laissez les Bon temps Rouler" I couldn't have asked for a better dog!
I consider myself very lucky to get a puppy from Pat. I got to see Sly briefly when we picked up Zoe. He was going to a show in Houston when I met Pat to pick up Zoe .
She has brought so much joy n laughter to our lives.
She loves to carry her stuffed toys around and is constantly bringing me her toys. She loves to chase squirrels and birds and she loves to point at the cats I'm not sure what she would do to them if she could get them. I love watch her hunt.

I really liked your girl. She was a cutie when she was little. Just to set the record straight, Roz's Java was out of my breeding (Yellow Rose). I bred my girl, Halo, to Pat's male, Buddy. When you get a chance I would love to see pictures of Zoe.

I am sure Kristi has better pics of Zoe, but this is a pic of my male Beaux and Zoe at the dog park at the end of May.  She is the one on the right.

I recognize that head. She looks like her daddy, Sly. Very pretty girl. She has grown up nicely.

Welcome to you and Zoe! Boy, our girls sound like polar opposites...she's not all that vested in balls, but will settle for them if they squeak, hates being outside in the rain, DEVOURS
her plush toys, and adores baths to no end LOL. But, like you and Zoe, she has brought so much joy to our lives. I grew up in North MS, I'm sure Zoe loves camp out that way.

More pics!

Roz - Thanks, I will be there that week. Can't wait to meet you.

Texas Belle- Thanks, I do think she does favor Sly. I don't think he can deny her as being one of his own. :-)

Smatulewicz- Thanks and your right that was right after a bath. Most people stop and ask me "What is she mixed with?" I just politely smile and say she's a german shorthaired pointer. We can't wait until November so we can bring her back to the camp.

Your girl is beautiful and welcome to the forum. I'm new here too and new to GSPs I got my first this past April and I know exactly what you mean about them bringing joy to your life :D We actually live in North MS, and we always get questioned as to what kind of dog Gossip is, they're very uncommon in my area.
