Hi, I get periodic emails from www.dogfoodadvisor.com when there are food recalls, etc.  I found this interesting about Jerky Treats and wanted to share in case anyone is feeding some of these treats.

Also, I don't know if anyone feeds Avoderm but they just had a recent recall also.

I don't trust many imported foods from asia. I believe they are lacking in regs. I remember a few years ago where melamine was found in infant formula

Thanks for posting this . I was wondering If Milos kitchen would be on there . I was suprised..  I was taken in by the wholesome photos of the healthy blond woman and her Golden retriever . Sold At Sams club.  Surely this was a treat fashioned by with care and love  just for Milo.  After I got it home I looked at the ingredients .

A rather LONG list  of   "STUFF"    and rather rubbery.

When you see the work Jerky you automatically think High meat content and has to be a good treat.

Yet another example of how advertizing draws us in and  dupes us.

tossing it tonight.

I used Milo's Kitchen jerky treats when she was a pup as her super rare recall treat. I feel a little better that I cut them into tiny pieces...but what's left in the bag now has just dried up anyway...so I will proceed with showing it to the garbage :)

Thanks for the info.

This is why I make my own training treats. When I need to buy some I usually buy either the Wellness treats os the Purina Pro Plan treats. I stay away from the large variety of what I think of as designer treats that rely on their marketing to sell.

Bev Quarles, the Pointer Sisters (Belle and Halo), the Outlaw GSP (Johnny Ringo) and the little Princess (Fauna)

Texas Belle, I have been making my own too (from hamburger or chicken to cheese) at least for training. I will have to do a cabinet check on others though. OUr GSP is more picky about food and treats, and won't bother with some, but the Springer's favorite in the park treat is deer droppings...Can't find much this one won't eat! Because not everyone can get the springer to let you out the door, several treats are around to keep the bugger busy while they leave. I wrote down the names of the Jerky and will check this morning... ARG! Between the kid and the dogs, I spend WAY too much time in my days looking for where things are made! (and I thought food shopping for a diabetic on a strict diet took forever!)
