Ok...I'll admit that I was a total crazy doggy mom today. But really, why not have a reason to have a glorified doggy playdate? SO, Bella had a birthday party today with all of her doggy friends. Everyone, people included, actually had a blast. Once the dogs were worn out, us two-leggeds were able to eat and visit...so it was a nice excuse to all get together. Bella CRASHED immediately in the car, awoke upon arriving home to play a few minutes with one of her new toys...and passed out again shortly after

I should make a "blooper" collage for this photo...
Treat time! I used Texas Belle's carrot cake recipe. I noticed she mentioned it doesn't rise much so I doubled the recipe. I put 1/3 in a bread pan to make Bella's cake (that I shaped into a bone after) and the rest in cupcake tins. I imagine since I divided the batter...they ended up more like fat cookies, but the dogs didn't seem to mind either way They were a HIT. Since I also burned them a little...I'm assuming it was the peanut butter frosting that did the trick.
B was completely convinced intially that she was indeed allowed to have this. But, once she realized she was the only one still eating and 7 other pairs of eyes were eyeing up her plate...she got to work. The lab/pointer mix did snipe a good chunk of it, but she has a habit of taking everything that is Bella's so no one was surprised And, since I didn't really want her to eat the entire thing...it worked out OK.
A good time had by all, and a great way to enjoy a beautiful day (as we know there are only so many left before Michigan winter hits!)

| Happy birthday to Bella! Glad the carrot cake was a hit. My Belle's birthday is today as well. My Belle is 9 years old. She had a special seafood dinner for her birthday and one of her favorite nephews came over to watch Texas and Ole Miss. We had fun and the Longhorns won big. So we had a good birthday as well. |

Happy One YEAR Bella!! She is ADORABLE!! Give her a hug for me.....awwww......Our two GSP's, Maybrie and Kaido will be ONE in 4 more days! I have to find a way to celebrate! I LOVE all the pics....I think my favorite is the one where all 3 are wearing hats and Bella is the one smiling in the middle!! The other 2 are just going along with it! Bella is a beautiful GSP! |

Thanks guys! She was a happy girl all day. Bev, happy birthday to your Belle! I always choose a seafood dinner for my birthday treat too My FB newsfeed was all kinds of frustration with that game...but being originally from MS I see nothing but "go rebs" or "go dogs"
Bugsy I think all dogs should have birthdays! I was worried the feeding of the cupcakes wouldn't go well, but all behaved very nicely (minus the sniping of the birthday girl's treat) lol. It really was a blast for all of us. |
