Velvet could care less about anything but with Windsor:
Thunder, dishwashers, irons, ironing boards, car horns, door bells, any kind of car horn coming from the TV when we watch a show, swiffer dusters, blow dryers, vacuum cleaners, and now dry cleaning bags. Most of the above he will run and go to bed to get away from it all. Car horns or door bells he's running around barking his head off. And now the dry cleaning bag - well he didn't know what to make out of it. What freaks out your dogs?

Leos is like Velvet, he thinks everything is great fun lol. Baira on the other hand.............the washing machine, the sound of the water in the drains, police sirens, someone shouting on the tv, motorbikes.
Oh Leos doesn't like the hose pipe, runs a mile. Baira loves it, loves catching the water. |

| The water hose! dunkan hates the water hose... and i can't figure out why. he's never been sprayed by it or even close to being sprayed by it. evertime we get close to it, to use it, he runs away as fast as he can! |

Your laundry bag video came on automatically after the ball video ended. Windsor started Grrrr ruffing at the bag and Bella threw her head up and looked at the computer and started doing the "huh" head thing.
Bella is pretty curious and easy going. She only gets bothered usually if she can tell I'm bothered. Never cared about the vacuum but yesterday I had the hose off and held it out while I picked something up and she decided to sneak up for a sniff and got some nose suction. Don't think she'll be doing that again 
Other dogs barking excessively really freaks her out as she's not vocal. But she is starting to find her voice and getting more protective of our home, especially when the hubbs isn't home.
Anyone she doesn't know moving slowly toward her, or anywhere around her really gets her attention. OH, she also seems very concerned about me when I use my hairdryer. |

From her first walk I learned that Chelsea would not walk on the steel utility plates in sidewalks. Ten years later she still avoids them.
Both she and Humphrey will run away from the hose but that is because I DO spray them just to be mean! Chelsea will also try to sneak off if she sees me pick up the dremel but if I catch her unawares she just lies there being a martyr. |

Gunny doesn't like the hose or if you try and get him to drink out of a water bottle. You have to take it slow or he will just run away. So strange, we never did anything to him!
He also gets excited whenever there is a doorbell on TV... He thinks someone is here... But we have never had a doorbell in any house I've lived with him in!
He is also obsessed with bugs and offensive grass clumps. (They offend him anyways.) If he is staked out at a field trial he rips all the grass out he can in his circle and then barks at the grass out of reach.
He also will stare into a plant on our deck for 20-30 minutes at a time if I let him. I think there are little bugs in there he watches, he knows he isn't allowed to bite the plant.
My dog is an OCD FREAK. |

Bugsy is pretty unflappable (after a close call with some tornadoes last year he isn't a fan of storms but that doesn't seem unusual to me, sad but not strange)
anyway he is afraid of built-in sprinklers - we walk on the edge of the road (no sidewalks or curbs) and lots of people have built in irrigation. If it pops up and starts when we are walking by he jumps, if its already on we have to give it a wide berth, but if it is underground and gurgling he wants to attack it, shrugs.
He is also hyper aware of his footing so if we go into downtown he will hop over the steel grates/plates and can find many surfaces 'freaky'. He'll walk on them but its like a tip-toe and he will leap over them if he can
Just last week I was trying to get him to step into my kayak (its a sit on top type) and he would get his front legs in and then attempt to put his rear feet down and launch over the whole boat as if it were hot coals.
The footing thing is OK with me though because he had some treacherous stuff to do today on our hike and he was fine because he is careful of his footing |

| All of our dogs have something that bothers them....thanks for sharing, these are great! Windsor also goes around storm grates unless they are covered with leaves and his foot slipped once. I am not sure how either would react to ahose or tools. That is funny about the dremmel! Windsor will go in the tub no problem but he hates the pool. I break my back trying to get Velvet in the tub but she likes to be blowdried afterward. |

| The ironing board for sure. When my neighbor has his shoot festivals. Other then that he's what you might say as pretty normal. My first shorthair was affraid to go in the basement of my first house. He would follow me to the entrance but wouldn't come in. Funniest thing . He never once entered it. |

Bo was afraid of the basement at our old house ... until we had the basement finished at the stairs carpeted. I think he wasn't sure of his footing. 
He hates bugs, anything dropped on the ceramic tiles of our place, the garage door and a old clothes rack that we have re-purposed as a gate. Seriously, he could breathe on it and it would fall over. But it fell once on the ceramic floor and that was it
Raz is afraid of very little it seems.
Funny though, both of them will set outside during a thunderstorm  |

| We have a finished basement and when we had our cat she pretty much stayed down there once we got Velvet. We gave the kitty to a friend who has 4 other cats and she's much happier there. At first when we'd open the door to go downstairs into the "man cave", Windsor wanted nothing to do with it. He'd just wait at the top of the stairs. Now he will hesitate a little but will go down, especially if "Daddy" goes down there. |

| Dax's big one is turtles. He HATES turtles. A pair of mating snapping turtles floated past him in the creek when he was about 6 months old, and ever since then he has had a fear/hatred of turtles. They never touched him but they scared him pretty bad I guess. After that incident, he kept his distance from rocks too....until he would realize its a rock and not a turtle haha. Today suspicious rocks still get a close inspection before he determines that they're safe |

| Glad Dax stays away from those turtles! They can surely stretch their necks out and bite! On my way to work a couple months ago there was a big snapping turtle in the road - it must have come out of the nearby reservoir. I stopped to move it because I knew someone was gonna hit it. I took a stick and kept shoving it towards the side of the road where the woods were. I stopped traffic and people were not pleased LOL. But it's neck stretched out a few times - never knew they could stretch their necks so far like that. It did not like me but hey, I was trying to help it out When I was a little kid I would catch box turtles and turn them upside down and write a name on their bellies with a Sharpie marker so I knew who was who in case they would return. |

Good topic...
Crash is afraid of anything with slick footing. This makes for some hilarious trips to Petsmart!
And the one that is crazy to me. Any type of plastic bags. When I put a new trash bag in the trash can you would think he is about to be attacked by a chainsaw. Including the noise his food bag makes. Kinda funny! |

My Java was afraid of the bags you get from the grocery store. It started with an agility trial we went to and they used those for poop bags, and it was windy that day. A few got away and were moving on their own . . . she did not like that. So, I thought smartly that I am going to fix that. Well I did, and now she attacks them. It makes it a little difficult to come in carrying the groceries .
She also did not like the ironing board . . . but for good reason. She was close to it when it collapsed on its own. Got rid of that type and now have the one that is built in the wall.
My border collie, it is the door stop. He hates it when it moves so he will stare at it all day if you let him.
My older GSP Maple hates when you cook something on the stove like frying where it makes that sizzle sound. She got poppped once with bacon grease and well, she leaves when that is happening. No way am I going to fix that! She is my countersurfer so that is the only real way to keep her out of the kitchen!

Havoc isn't afraid of too much, but silly things get him excited. The broom- he tries to bite it when I use it and gets all wound up and usually ends up in tornado mode if it takes me longer than a minute or so to finish sweeping up.
He also comes running if you snap a trash bag. . . you know to open it up so it will fit in the can? Don't know if that makes sense to anyone but me lol.
About the only things that I've noticed that freak him out a little bit is the vacuum, and when we're giving him a bath we can't leave the water running. He'll jump into the tub on his own as long as the water is off, but if the water starts he wants out. I'm convinced it's just the noise since he LOVES the water. |

Tuckers not really afraid of anything either. He doesn't like water but he's slowly coming around as he gets bigger. He hates fireworks but doesn't even flinch at a gunshot. The funnies thing is thunderstorms. He doesn't hate them but when there is thunder he will go on point to the window or door and he looks like he wants to go outside and investigate the weird noises coming from the sky. |

| We have a male and a female, brother and sister from the same litter.......but purchased at separate times. We got the female first, at 5 months old, and the brother 2 months later at 7 months old. Maybrie, the female is super easy going, carefree, and though curious about just about EVERYTHING, has NEVER been startled by anything. However, Kaido, the male, is pretty skiddish around males. He is not afraid of them if we are at the dog park or outside on a run, but if they come in his house, he has the protective bark, but won't let them touch him for about 3 minutes or so. I was playing a CD of Les Miserable, and the song "I dream a dream" that is sung by the male lead actor ValJean, came on. His voice had SO much tension that Kaido was TERRIFIED to walk into the living room for 2 days. I finally strapped Maybrie to his collar and she led him through the house. After he saw nothing was going to get him, he was fine. He is afraid of fireworks, but not thunder. He is curious about odd shaped things in closets and bathrooms, and will stand back and sniff. If we walk up on him during this time and startle or surprise him, he will give a yelp! He's sure that something from the closet got him. I can honestly say, Kaido would NOT be the same Kaido without Maybrie. The two are literally inseparable. They go overwhere together, and Kaido gets almost more excited to see his sister than he does any of us! I love those two! I'm SO glad this forum exists and that my dogs are not the only two fraidy cats....I mean dogs! |

| Brought my work laptop home with me last night. Normally the dogs are outside in the pen so I can come inside without the happy bouncing boing boing from them. Windsor did NOTlike the laptop bag at all. I left them in because it was raining. |
