I just made a donation to the SouthWest GSP Rescue by going to their website:  www.gsprescuesouthwest.org  and at the bottom of the page there is a button to click on to take you to their Paypal account.

I then sent an email to:  Marylin, Acting Chair  gsprescuesouthwest@yahoo.com to let her know that the donation was for helping the GSP in Clovis, NM.

I am forwarding this from Missy Neal, who is rescue coordinator for
GSPCA. Please read it carefully. The rescue you will be donating to
for Freedom's release is GSP Rescue Southwest. (those were the folks
who ran the Rescue table at the Nationals). They will be dealing with
placement once he has been pulled and vetted and well taken care of
(by some not in Shorthairs and some who will remain anonymous in our
own breed). They will appreciate your support, as will GSPCA Rescue
or your local rescue also.

Once again, I remind you there are GSPs in shelters all over the
country and all need help. Thank you.

.... let these folks know that this is not a GSPCA rescue effort and
there will be no such "report" via GSPCA. It is GSP Rescue Southwest,
and they are in no way accountable to GSPCA. I never claimed I would
post a link on gspca.org for the Clovis dog. If anyone wishes to
donate to the general GSPCA Rescue fund those Paypal buttons have
always been on the Rescue site since I have been in charge. GSP Rescue
Southwest is the group that posted the PayPal button for the Clovis
dog. That group is the one rescuing him.

So these donations go directly to GSP Rescue Southwest. They will not
come back to GSPCA if there's any "left over". They will stay in the
Southwest fund to help other dogs in need in the Southwest. That is
how it works with donations.

The Clovis dog has rescue. He will be picked up in the morning and
vetted fully, and temp fostered until Southwest gets a foster home for
him. All the footwork is being done by non-GSP folks because there
aren't any GSP folks (rescue volunteers or otherwise) in that area of
the country. Now I am moving on to other urgent GSPs in shelters that
are still in danger..

Best Regards,

Missy

I sent via PayPal..

This is an extremely  important test for how to reconstruct the thrust
for rescue.

I would request that a report be made outlining how much money has
been donated since Freedom was shown to us. As only those on this list
- who have actually read the posts - and not the entire membership, we
should gather as much information as we can from this incident..

Did I hear correctly that the adoption has been halted/ due to the
fact that the actual rescue procedures were not followed? If so, since
when did a dog care about paperwork when the ability and funds to move
him was in place? Anyone know?

I am planning to send a donation thru my Paypal account so that this
dog can be saved, transported and fostered.  I am sure that if there
are any leftover funds, they can be funneled back into the GSPCA
rescue or local rescue organizations.

Just waiting for the Paypal info to get the money sent.  I am sure
that Missy will post to the gsp-l when that account is set up.

Each of you who has offered to help should send donations to your own

rescue or to the link at gspca.org that will be up shortly.  There are

hundreds of dogs in rescue, not just this one fellow, who admittedly

has tugged at all our hearts.  Please don't forget them
