To quell some concerns about the dog. He is not in danger of being euthanized and he is not available for release until 30 May. This date was determined based on when he was picked up and the shelter being closed for Memorial Day weekend. Because it was Memorial Day weekend some emails went unanswered until today as was my case with an inquiry to the SW GSP Rescue Group which indicated they were working the issue. It is important to keep in mind not all belong to or post to the gsp-l, just as I don't belong to or have a FaceBook page. No doubt a lot of information and mis-information makes its way across the internet, FB and all of the other social media these today. Currently work is being done locally in Clovis, NM to get him released, vetted and fostered. Then the logistics of working to get him to the SW GSP Rescue group can be worked. As is the case with many small towns there are no local breed specific rescue organizations that can step in and initiate the process. The ball got rolling with the first post to the gsp-l and many were willing to help for which we all should be thankful.
