What a beautiful pup! She looks so natural carrying that chukar. Welcome to the wonderful world of gun dogs. Enjoy the journey it goes by so fast.

You have a shorthair - did you expect anything less? :)

These dogs ARE fun.

Awesome dog and congrats on the chukar. A word of warning, I wouldn't hunt your pup with other dogs her first few times out. She may learn to be a follower and never develop her own true hunting ability. I am going to have Rowdy hunting away from other dogs the initial few times out in the field. Honoring point comes later.

Being a follower and not expandng should not be a problem, if anything it will help a young dog stretch their legs

what can be a problem is all the potential bad habits, amount of gun fire and did I mention all the bad habits

^^Good info to know PB, thanks. I definitely know about dogs learning bad habits from other dogs, but didn't know that being a follower wouldn't be a problem, even if they hunt with another dog at first. Hope all is well.
