She loves the woods, adores the water, and I guess I can add getting air to the list. Second time seeing the dock and this time she didn't hesitate at all. She also got to try out her new float coat this weekend. Now when she is swimming pointless laps for over an hour without coming to shore I won't worry so much about her tiring out. She loves it.

"You throw this for me now?"

"This IS my happy face...can we get back to the fun now?"

"Oooo, Bird!"

She knows who to find when she has had way too much fun and needs a cuddle nap, preferably one that includes getting covered up and cuddled in as close as possible
Got a couple of videos of her jumping too, but my movie maker thing isn't working right at the moment. What a fun time we had. Never a dull moment with one of these pups.

You always have the best stuff. If not the videos, then the pictures. Nice looking dog. I've seen numerous posts about dock jumping dogs and I've got to try it. There's plenty places to do it here in the Copper Country.
I also noticed the float-coat/life jacket. I have one for my dog and use it quite a bit, especially after she once swam waaaaay out after a flock of geese swimming across a lake. Of course, the geese kept just far enough ahead of her to encourage her to keep going. I thought they were going to drown Sadie, but she finally came back. |

| FANTASTIC SHOTS! |

It is watching the dogs work that I thoroughly enjoy, and love. I could get by with just watching them work - if it weren't for all the training, and the joy they exhibit when they pick-up, and deilver to hand a bird that they pointed, and you shot. - Todd |

Thanks guys. She's a great subject...thought at times she does get her "annoyed" face at having to "wait" for a photo opp (See pic above lol). Funny...my husband gets the same face when it comes to me and my camera a lot @tgatto - need your pup to come teach her how to get the good air! @Mjbuck - wish we had some good docks around here to let her try - our one at camp is just small and rickety, I think she'd feel ever braver on a good one. Thinking maybe we'll head that way for Fall, but doubt it will be for good swimming weather. |

You're so right High5Hanna! I reckon she'll be surf-chick blonde by the end of the summer A wee dock-diving babe!
On that note - Smatulewicz, there was recent coverage of a doggy surfiing championship over here in Cornwall i think - maybe that would be another cool watersport Bella would enjoy? |

Well they do say dogs and owners start to resemble one another Her dark chocolate brown has definitely taken on a more milk chocolate color in the Summer. OHHH werubbertummy, do you think I could convince the hubbs to vacation to the ocean to try that out? It's a win win for everyone. |

Absolutely,it's in Bella's best interests after all!If a youngster shows talent it's the parents responsibility to help fulfil ambitions and achieve full potential (would that little speech work with your hubby?)
Then of course, you would also have to learn to surf in order to coach Bella,and...a whole new wardrobe of surfing beachwear for both you and Bella, a cool surfboard each, a fully inclusive month at a 5 star resort with a posh restaurant and spa (to aide recovery after a day in the surf)!
Howzat for a plan? |
