She's a smart pup.
Find a proven training program and follow it.

Do you plan on hunting wings or the whole bird? I would get rid of the wing! Try to find a local bird dog training club. Here is a great start- http://www.navhda.org/

My recommendation would be not to stress about it. As obvious as it sounds, a wing is no more a bird than any other toy a dog plays with. While there are a myriad of games you can play with wings, and other toys, it will not duplicate working with live birds. I have had dogs that point wings, and dogs that don't; dogs that stand-off wings, and dogs that eat them. Whatever the behavior, it didn't directly translate to the field, and more often than not, once the dog is knowledgable in the field, wings are just more a distraction, or chew-toy.

It is watching the dogs work that I thoroughly enjoy, and love. I could get by with just watching them work - if it weren't for all the training, and the joy they exhibit when they pick-up, and deilver to hand a bird that they pointed, and you shot. - Todd
