Our friend had an English Spaniel named Max. He had an electric fence and Max stayed outside all day long. Well our friend came home to find Max gone. This was 15 months ago as of this past Saturday. He was so upset, put up flyers everywhere, put an ad lostdog.com. Well nobody ever answered his ad, Max never came back home So he went and adopted a chocolate lab puppy named Abby. He drove from CT to VT to get her and brought her to work that day and we got to see her (she peed on me). He's had her for a year now. So fast forward to Saturday, a vet who was in the next town over called him - he never met this vet or heard of her. She told him someone dropped off a dog and was wondering if it could be his dog because she remembered seeing flyers in a bunch of towns and she frequently goes to lostdog.com. Well that Saturday after the dog was dropped off, the vet spent 2 hours on lostdog.com and found Andy's post from 15 months ago. No way did he think this could have been his dog. Apparently someone dropped off the dog saying they couldn't care for him anymore - he looked ok nourishment-wise but was riddled with ticks and fleas. Well he went to the vet thinking this was impossible and guess what - Max greeted him at the vet's office! can you imagine? 15 months and he got his pup back! I broke into happy tears hearing this! Our friend is still in shock. I asked him what Max did when he brought him home and Max went right to his bed (still there but Abby took it over) and peed on it Both dogs get along great. What a incredible story!
