Spent the afternoon chasing quail at Nelson's Ridge one of my favorite places to hunt.

Jason the owner of Nelson's Ridge takes great pride in making it one of the premier hunting preserve's as to the quaility of birds in the area. He has done a wonderful job with his released birds and the wild birds his area holds flying and acting the same. He releases his birds in covey's of 10 or 12 and I have never been able to tell the diffrence between the pen raised covey's and the wild ones we find on his property (I am sure most of the covey's contain both wild and released). We had him put out 50 birds and probley saw a total of 70 or more in the 6 covey's the dog's found during the hunt. With 3 of us hunting the cost was 100 dallors each for the hunt and trust me it was money well spent. For a few hours both the hunters and the dogs got to travel back to the way Qauil hunting was in the glory days in Missouri.
