Hi everyone. I recently adopted a 5 year old GSP and she has been wonderful! I am currently looking for a hunting school to get her into because I know that is what she wants to do so badly. She has strong prey drive (ask my hands, they have the leash burn to prove it!). My question is this: when she points, she does not lift her paw. Is this normal? Is it still considered pointing if she does not lift her paw?

it is very normal not to lift a leg while on point
It is pretty, tho
Get her on more birds, I bet she'll raise a paw,eventually

Pointing can be done from many positions. The traditional picture of a point is the head up with a front leg lifted. The point is more about the nose pointing in the direction of the find, but the rest of the body will lock in a variety of positions.
