For sale: 11 year old registered Tennessee Walking Horse gelding. Some info:
Blue roan, one white hind sock, wide blaze, beautiful horse with loads of mane and tail
16.2 hh, approximately 1150-1200 lbs, a big boy
Has 6 years of field trial experience, can do it all – judge, handle, plant, scout, road dogs
Real ground-covering walk because he’s tall. Has a smooth running four beat gait but does sometimes need to be collected to get into it
Does canter well, nice rocking chair gait. Also can stretch out and gallop like a TB. Not all gaited horses can do that.
Gentle nature, no kick, bite, etc.
Trailers like a pro, good for farrier and vet.
Stands tied without complaint, used to standing on a ground stake overnight
Easy keeper
Current on shots, farrier work (needs shoes only about every 10 weeks), teeth floated every two years
Always healthy and sound, never a missed step
Incredible endurance – goes allllllll day carrying a good sized adult, has never quit on us
Mountain climbing machine, extremely experienced trail horse and brush buster
Rides the same in small groups or groups of 50+
Crosses water no matter how deep, not afraid of ledges or hills
Great with dogs underfoot
Gunbroke, no spooking at gunfire
Only real hole is that he has psoriasis in his ears and he doesn’t want you grabbing his ears. It has been a total non-issue with us because we ride him in a halter with a bit attached with cheek pieces. But he will probably never be willing to have a bridle shoved over his ears. When you reach for his ears, he doesn’t get aggressive or anything, just moves away. And he’s tall, so can easily get his ears out of your reach.
Occasionally will startle at things, but does it in place or side step to look at whatever he is concerned about. He's not bombproof, but really really close.
Gets along best with a quiet, confident rider. Does not need spurs, has plenty of go when you ask.
Has been a great solid horse for us
A strong, beautiful animal in the prime of life
Selling only because we found the black and white paint my husband has always wanted and now we have too many.
$3000 and we will be very particular where he goes.
