So bowser is going on about nine months old now and hes been behaving very badly lately and im lost on what to do or what im doing wrong. We spend alot of time with him and correct bad behaviors but he just doesnt seem to get it. Heres an example of how my morning went yesterday. I got up let bowser outside to go to the bathroom, i was running late so i hopped into the shower. While i was in the short span of my shower bowser peed on the kitchen floor even though i just let him out 15 minutes prior(i feel like he did it because i didnt give him the attention that he wanted.) I repremanded him for peeing on the floor let him back out side and let him back in. I then went up stairs to get dressed and while i was bowser ate my bagel off the kitchen counter. Today while my boyfriend was outside he looked through the window and bowser was standing on the kitchen table. We never let him jump up on anything so i dont understand where this is all coming from. He just wont listen, if my neighbors are out side he continuusoly barks at them regardless of how many times i direct him away and tell him no. Its as if he has no respect for us at all and hes becoming to be less and less enjoyable by the day. If anyone could offer any suggestions it would be appreciated very much.

I call it the puppy stupids. It is a phase he is going through, just like the teenage years in kids. Keep doing what you are doing and it will pass. It is not you, it is his age.

Just shore up your patience and know that it will pass.

Yep it's just the age. Gun was a nightmare for a month or two regarding listening to us. It passes :) Good Luck!

He is about 8-9 months old now?
We can blame it on the puppy stupids or we can see it for what it really is - the dog is left unsupervised, basic obedience is not where is should be and he is at a stage where he will be testing you. Do we all experience what you are now - YES!
Keep obedience standards high, don't leave him unsupervised, give commands once and then correction,if not obeyed.
Good luck and keep at it.

I agree with Pixie....we call it puppy stupids but in reality we start to trust the dog more and don't keep as close of an eye on it...then it starts to test us and once it has one slip of going potty in the house then more and more start happening...so then we have to reenforce the training...

In humans it is called the teenage years or puberty. Dogs are not that different than kids in this sense. They have to test their boundaries too. It is all a part of growing up. Keeping consistent and continuing to train will get you through it.
