Thank you for the open and honest reply. Said it before, will say it again, please consider bringing it to the officiers and board. There should be disciplinary capability for the board and or officers to censure anyone who denigrates another member in a public way, unless they have and produce proof of what they say. Proof does not consist of someone claiming someone else on the bod told me, it needs to be direct evidence that you saw or heard some event yourself, otherwise it is simply hearsay or should be left to the person who actually saw or heard the event to report. It is neither fair or reasonable to fillet a member without having or producing proof. Censure could include anything up to and including a ban on entry of specialty shows for a specified period of time. Reply-To: gsp-l@shorthairs.net Subject: RE: [gsp-l] Follow up on GSPCA status. It will not be my standard practice to respond to private lists on the internet but I am going to make an exception on this topic. This topic has gotten way out of hand. This is not a GSPCA list. Topics on private lists more often than not degrade to a level of personal attacks and libelous comments henceforth making them counterproductive. I will begin with the Non-Profit Corporation status of the GSPCA. The proper documents for that status were filed with the State of Missouri on February 10th, 2011. A check was sent with these documents and it was cashed by the State of Missouri. We have copies of those document and our cancelled check. Why we are not listed as Non-Profit Corporation at this time I do not know. But that is being checked into by the Clerk that is in charge of that department. Because we have met our fiduciary responsibilities I cannot imagine that it will effect us as a Club in any way. It would have been nice if someone would have contacted me with this information privately so that I could have dealt with it in a timely fashion instead of posting it on a public list. Perhaps a person who was genuinely concerned with the status of our club would have even asked how they could help with this matter. Now, not only am I dealing with this situation, I am having to answer numerous private e-mails sent to me from people who are genuinely concerned about our status.I have many things I need to do as President of this organization. This is taking away from those tasks. As far as the Board of Directors of the GSPCA is concerned. Yes, someone made a mistake. A letter was not mailed, someone did not file our paperwork, who knows. But this is what I do know. The people who serve on this Board will make mistakes. We are all human. The only way that we will not make mistakes is if we do nothing. NOTHING. I do not think that this is the type of Board we want. To chastise people on public lists for this or to threaten them, is not right. IT SIMPLY IS NOT RIGHT. It is plain to me why very few people really want to serve on this Board. Why would anyone want to serve on a Board, take up much of their spare time and resources, and continually have to defend every move you make not to mention the personal attacks? THIS HAS TO STOP. If anyone, any member, of the GSPCA has a question about anything that this Board has done, questions about policies, procedures, Constitution & By Laws... we have procedures in place to deal with that. Contact your Regional Director. Give them a reasonable time to respond. If they do not, contact me. You will get a response. Demands do not go very far. Questions on internet lists do not go very far. My intention is to get some type of question and answer board set up on our GSPCA webpage. But that has to be discussed at the next board meeting, and it will be discussed. I haven't even been in this position for one week. The new Board of Directors has not been in place for one week. Give us a chance, please. If you have any suggestions, ideas, things you want us to discuss, send it to your Director. Our next Board meeting is the first weekend in June. And with this message, this topic will end on this list. Enough is enough.
