As an edit, I just found my Onofrio Points pamphlet, so I think I know how many points I have for this weekend's BOS. Is there any site that a person can confirm their points at along the way towards the 15?

So being that wins against CHs count towards the breed/sex count and points, that brings me to another question.  Can you get a major based on wins over CHs?  Or do you not get majors when it comes to adding specials into the figure?  If it wouldn't count as a major, would you get 3 single points?

Oh, the confusion

No, perfectly easy and simple questions.
You can keep track of your points by going to the AKC website at www.akc.org. Along the top banner you will find "Store", and if you click on the drop down, it will take you (clear at the bottom, btw, to a place called "points progression". Points toward your conformation, field, hunt and I think obedience championships and titles are there. You'll have to create a username and also a password that will be stored. Points are posted approximately 2 weeks after the show.

Your second question. If a class dog/bitch goes Best of Breed over specials, the dogs of both sexes are counted toward the total for the determination of points earned toward their championship. If a class dog/bitch goes Best of Opposite Sex over specials, the dogs of the same sex are counted toward the total for the determination of points earned toward their championship. And finally, the dog gaining BOW also counts the highest number of points available between the class dogs/bitches available.

Congrats on your wins!

The URL for the AKC Store is as follows:
http://www.akc.org/online_accounts/index.cfm?returnpage=/store/reports/dog/index.cfm?report_category_cde=DOG&report_cde=CMPREC

Lengthy, but should get you to where you can register!

Thanks Phyllis!

That's interesting to know. So it seems even if you can't make a 3 pt major with regular class entrys, a major is still achievable if a dog/bitch wins over enough CHs for BOS or BOB?

Well, yes...but it isn't something you should count on happening on a regular basis. :) Too many nice specials out for that....

To answer your last question, yes. If you are ever unsure and want to find out at the show just ask the ring stewards and they can help you verify points and if it was a major. I don't always get the exact count while showing, but a quick check with the stewards and it is cleared up. Just be sure and wait until all judging for the breed is over so you aren't interfering with their work.

Also, and I apologize if this was what Phyllis was pointing to, but for some reason the link took me to an odd location), you can register and setup your dogs under Manage Dogs on the AKC website. Then you just log in and select your dogs and one of the tabs is for Points and Titles. It will show you the entire breakdown and what you need and all titles you have on the dog. You don't have to run a report or anything. The tool also tracks health clearances, tattoos/microchips, DNA info, ownership, etc. You can also use the online tool to track some information about dogs you do not own too if you are interested. I tracked dogs I was looking at for breeding with Halo and also some of the siblings of my dogs. Will definitely use it to keep up with the puppies in Halo's current litter that are going to show homes.
