That's my worst nightmare, losing them & not knowing what happened. :( I hope he is found safe & sound!

Having a dog get lost like this would be devastating for me. I'll say a prayer that he will be found safe and sound, and that he will shortly be reunited with his family.

Jud was FOUND Sunday! His foster mom drove to the area where he was last sighted, spent the night on the ground, and he came to her the next AM. All's well, that ends well. He was hanging at Teaching Drum School land, outside Three Lakes, near the lake he went missing from.  She figures he slept in a wigwam.

See, you need to understand pointers and their moves to know where to look for them. They are SOOO TYPICAL.  A pointer will circle the area to find where he left.  A pointer will quadrant himself off to that circle area...you can bet on it.  Unless he's on game, that may take him off the quadrant. The dog will stay with an area that provides food/water/shelter.  Depending on how busy the area, he will travel at night when it's quiet.  If he is lost in woods as vast as this area....my god!  It's like finding a needle in a haystack!  We even reached out to WI Trappers!  Cuz, well...you never know.

Jud got lucky that his foster mom reached out HUGELY to put his face everywhere, and that is how he got found.  A microchip is virtually useless here....since most those shelters up north, don't even have them...  We had to wait for the dog to want to be seen.  And, he did.  He also could have easily been bear meat....  Jud got very lucky.

Glad to hear the wolves didn't get him.
