I was showing off Beth's pictures of Tundra's puppies the other day and my niece wanted to know how I met her. "Well, I haven't actually MET her, but I feel like I know her since I read about her almost every day," to which I got an "adults!?!" look .

I keep my husband up to date on the goings-on on the board and talk about you guys like you're my friends "Ha, you have to hear a crazy story about what Bean was up to today!"

Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year!

It's actually getting to the point where it's "my friend, Beth, Renée" etc. It takes too long to explain, "these people I talk to on the GSP Message Board ... what's a GSP? German Shorthaired Pointer. Message board? It's kind of like e-mail, but anyone can read it ... oh, nevermind! You think I'm nuts when it comes to my dog, anyhow!"

MERRY CHRISTMAS TO ALL OF YOU!! I feel the same way, I will tell my husband " Beth got back from Mexico with her new son, isn't it exciting!!' & "you should hear what so & so' s dog did! He thinks I am way to bored haha, I do live very isolated so I feel like you all are my neighbors that I don't have !! Wouldn't it be fun to all meet next summer somewhere kinda in the middle for everyone probably won't work, but it would be cool. It could be the first GSP FORUM Reunion!!!

I find it amazing how many of us on this board are women. Generally (not to be sexist) you think of hunting dogs as men's dogs. A reunion of GSP owners and their dogs---that would be fun. I love the breed so much that it is rubbing off on my 5 year old grandson. When I talked to him on the phone the other night he was telling me about watching a dog show on TV at which point his voice broke as he said "But they didn't show the pointer". I hope everyone has a very merry Christmas and a great New Year.

Sounds like a party to me, we all live so far apart, it seems impossible to make it a plan. We will probably be in Sturgis next year, for the Motorcycle rally......maybe I will be able to plan a route to see some ? That would be so much fun. We'll be in Laughlin Nevada April 23rd thru 27th...anyone live close ? We travel with our Toy hauler 5th wheel.....our dog house on wheels ( - :
If anyone is out my way ....ALL are WELCOME to come by and crash

Careful what you wish for ... I have family in Washington State (Oak Harbor) that we are trying to get out to visit next year... not quite sure our plan yet (kennel the dog, fly him out with us ...)

Oak Harbor is very nice.....BUT when you come to Lacey to visit Cabela's >>>>We're only 10 minutes away
Dare ya !!
I have kenneled Bean once, for three days, because we had a motorcycle rally in Anacortes...this time I got to ride without being worried about Bean ( usually I stay behind at the camp site ) This time I was wandering around aimlessly..My husband said " you don't know what to do ifyou're not watching after the dog " It was true
I did enjoy riding with the group, after I got used to knowing Bean was safe & comfy. HOWEVER, I really have seperation anxiety, more than a few days....The question I ask myself, is >>> would Bean be comfortable and have fun, so far she has travelled with us everywhere else.....She loves the 5th wheel...and riding in Greg's BIG DOG DADDY TRUCK ) our new F 350.

I use to live in Olympia & Shelton back in the 70"s. Use to party at a place called Captain Coyote's, tehe, memories. Anyone coming thru Northern Minnesota we always love company. We even built a guest cabin on our property cause we have so many guys that come fishing on Lake of the Woods. We also have a lake cabin right on a small lake about a 180 miles south of us, so come on up for a fishing vacation!! We have a 20 ft boat, dogs welcome!! Oh & the girl thing, I had GSPs before I meet my husband, he was a Lab man even raised them now he wouldn't have anything but a GSP!!

OK so far I know that Bean (the diva) has a hot tub, the Beanmobile, a large screen TV and her own window seat so---------when is she getting a motorcycle sidecar.

I too share all the stories with my husband and friends from all our friends on this GSP message board and I check this board before my personal e-mails ... Rocky would have never met Ranger if not for this message board and Yes I think it would be fun to meet others who have GSP's in travel whenever and wherever. What makes this board very special is that we all share a great love for the athletic, excellent swimmer. pointing retriever,weatherproof(stiff,water-and briar-repellent outerlayer and dense undercoat for thermal insulation), high intelligent, at times, precocious, high energy relentless serious bird hunter, no nonsense attitude , the spectacular, German Shorthaired Pointer!!!! .... I also agree with Pointer Fan. Bean needs a motorcycle sidecar from Santa. Have a great Xmas and Happy New year and hope there is a present for each GSP to open under the Xmas tree this year!!!

Well, I live in just about the center of the country, so if you guys (and gals) want to set up a meeting let me know, we have plenty of room! About 5 members that I can think of live comfortable driving distance to me also.
Now, off to go hunting, nice and warm today 24! It was 1 when High Voltage and I set out on our hunt Sunday am!

No side car....I'm kind of a motorcycle snob, I ride a softtail Deuce, with a converted Phat ASS rearend ( that's a 280 rear wheel ) drag bars and a hopped up V twin..to say the least !! Anyway it's not stylin' to add a side car.
There was hope, up until Sept. My hubby had a bagger, Now that looks good with a side car, BUT he sold it and bought a Custom Big Dog !Maybe Santa could bring us a whole NEW motorcycle including the side car ?
Miss "DIVA" does enjoy hanging out in the 5th wheel "guarding"...Only thing is, I can only leave her two hours at a time, I get too nervous >>>one year at Laughlin we rode our two hour limit, and upon return, found that the power had gone out and our air conditioning went out in the toy hauler ( we had a lab back then )and he was fine, it wasn't that hot ! Still I would rather pay for a daycare when we travel, to allow me to ride, the only problem is trusting the unfamiliar kennels while we travel...so far I've not been able to do it. I even try to locate the kennels B4 our trips...but you can't really tell anything over the phone...
Another thing about having a dog that is not GUN SHY...they don't even flinch, when a group of Harley's roar by
And we've set off car alarms....roflmao

I also talk about you all as if you're my neighbors and that my wife is always saying who? Then which dog do they have. It is like you are right here friends/ family!! It would be neat if everyone got together like that but would be about impossible.I hope I am not the only guy on here though? Of course that would be pretty cool too!

I hope all of you and your furry families have a Great Christmas and an even better New Year. Oh what kind of trouble can our dogs get into in the new year. Can't wait to see!!

BTW I used to ride Mocha on my lap cutting the grass, then when she got too big for that I would hook up my lawn trailer behind me and she would ride in that. You should've seen the look on peoples faces when they drove by and saw that! LMAO! She is so spoiled!!

I can organize the Michigan get together if anyone wants in. We could do a fun hunt day or something in April at the preserve a friend of mine owns. PM me if you want in. :-)
