Jere>>> The first time she encountered the hens was before the photo on our website (The tuning of a gundog") was taken. At that first occasion the hen was more or less alone and not at all that frightening since it was picking grass and Sunnie took a stance that looked like pointing. In the photo on the second occasion there were too many hens + a huge cock just outside the photo and their mass simply discouraged her from any offensive action. That does not mean that I know that the first sight point was a real one, I only know it looked like a real, virgin, point-action triggered by stimuli from the sight of game. When you get the video you can see how she start by investigating the scent from the put out partridge, without actually knowing what to think of it or what to do out of it. Then when she has found and flushed and chased a couple of the partridge she finally connect the scent with the game and starts to point with intensity. Anyone else who like to have the DVD?
