Well x- rays were done today! I am going to try and post a few pics of them but pics are hard to get of an x-ray. Lets do a guessing game of how many there are!  Two weeks til due date!

You count the skulls and backbones, I can make out a few shadows in there, but nothing to make a guess on. The count can be off that the vet gives also, mine won't even give a number anymore,just confimr pregnancy, too many people complaining that the number was off!
If this is the young, smalll bitch that was the accident, I would be hopeing for a lot of pups. With a large litter they will be smaller and your chance of c section will be less. |

| Our vet of course didn't promise anything but we know at least the minimum number of skulls that we all saw. And we all discussed it and were thumbing over the x-ray for a while. |

Just a question...if she's not due for 14 more days, then why did you do rads at day 46 ? You'd have been better off to have waited til there was more calicification. Sure, you can do rads any time after day 45, but the later the better. Something to keep in mind for a litter down the road (awhile, I hope).
Good luck on having a small litter, no problems and no sections.

| She had her x-rays on day 50. And how do you know it is going to be a small litter? This was a post to have some fun trying to count. So that everyone can settle their nerves on it being a small litter there are at least 7 in the x-ray. Thanks for those of you who had fun guessing and have shown us some kind of support and understanding that life happens even when we don't really want it to. |

I like the way you phrased that "life happens even when we don't want it to." Ain't that the truth. The we do the best we can and deal with the hiccups along the way.
I hope everything works out for you and little Tunda. She's a sweet looking little girl. I imagine the next few weeks will be VERY busy.

| We may get our son home before Christmas. At the earliest I would think we would travel the week of December 10th. She is due the 7th! Tundra is on day 52! We are doing the best we can with this unplanned breeding but I have a VERY good vet partnered with me in this venture and he has been by us each step of the way. |

Phyllis-
I appreciate that. I am just amazed at the people who assume I have no clue just because and accident happened. That is all I am trying to say.
To anyone following this post:
I am going to do what I would have if this was a planned breeding. What I mean by that is each puppy owner will have to complete a puppy application and have refrences etc. I am only selling the pups to pet homes. No breeding homes. As soon as I can get both my male and females health checks done they will be! I will also be standing behing my pups no matter what happens in their life. They will have to return to me if the owner is not able to keep them for any reason! Once a pup is born it is my pup and will be forever no matter what happens.
I glady welcome concern and such and really like to talk to those concerned about what has happened but prefer to do it through PM so no one feels that they are being publicy questioned. I believe in my dogs and my goals as a future breeder so welcome and questions etc.
From the bottom of my heart I really do appreciate the concern you all have shown! This board really does feel like a second family to me. And just like family doesn't always see eye to eye I don't expect any differently here! Once again thank you all and pictures will be posted when pups are born! |
