I have a new chocolate lab female and Male puppy. She is "Lame Duck's Tullie Shreader" call her "Tullie" and He is "Lame Duck's Family Tradition" call him "Hank". Hank Williams Jr had a hit song in the country music world called "Family Tradition". They were whelped june 18 and 22. I put them down with My "A" team three weeks ago and since have flushed 600 pheasants over them. They are awesome. I operate a kind of rough and tumble set of dogs. I use 7 or 8 flushers at a time right in front of the guns. Anywhere from 3 to 30 at a time and sometimes I have them shoulder to shoulder with 150 birds out in strips that are only 40 yards wide and 1/2 mile long. It gets pretty wild but these little guys are trying to compete with the big kids and they are 17 weeks old and they are out there trying to retrieve birds that sometimes fall 100 yds plus because they are on the other side of the isle, but they are there and they comeback with a leg, wing or something while the big guys drag them back. I often take birds that have 4 dogs trying to retrieve it.These pups are out there hunting with the big guys already. They are fun. Ron

I guess they make most part of the training and you do not have to do much to polish them.  How do you keep the numerous flushing dogs within range of the shotguns?

I am also interested in putting out partridge for Sunnie and see what she does to them. If she points we could flush them up in the air for her and so on. Everything has been, and still is very wet here. We could use some dry wind and sun for a couple of days, we will see what happens.
