Nice new format here.  Seems to be more options.

Spent a week at the lake and is was nice and warm the whole time.  Juno finially leared to swim and now is hooked.  After 5 weeks of low activitiy to heal a small tear in the CCL I think that he was just happy to be doing anything.  The swiming was a good introduction to really using the leg again too.  So we went down to the lake three times a day for the whole week mostly so that Juno could swim around and fetch his new favorate toy "the Wubba".  We were relieved as we thought that we had a bit of a wussy as up to now he wouldn't go in past where he could touch.

Now just to get him to jump off the dock like Tundra and Moose.  He just won't go for it.  He just stands at the edge of the dock and whines.  He won't even follow us in when we run off the end of the dock and jump in.  Also going to attempt canoeing with him too this summer.  Pictures of this next time.

Nothing like a day in the lake to tire everyone out.

Where do you guys live? If it is anywhere in the relm of being close to me all he probably would need is moose and tundra to show him the way. A little jelousy goes a long way. Also for the first few times if they are leaning at all over the edge for the toy give them a nudge. once they go in a few times it is a cake walk from there. At least with lake jumping! Don't throw or shove the dog at all as this could scare them. Just a little nudge may get him on his way! What a good looking boy!

Welcome Back!!

Look at him, he was pretty far out in the one pic.  Three times a day now, that is one great vacation. You can tell by the last two pics he is really tuckered out LOL.

Thanks for sharing!!!

The green toy is a Wubba. We bought one for our pup when we brought him home and he LOVES it. It's his favourite toy to chase. They float, they squeak, and the kinda look like a bird. (They are made by the Kong people.)

They come with a 7 day guarantee against defects . Bo has been unable to do anything more than get it a bit dirty in the 10 weeks he's had it.

They're really great and I know if Bo destroys the one he has now, it will be run, don't walk, back to the pet store to get another.

I actually sell the Wubba's now as well. Take a look at my site www.flyinghighk9s.com under shop. Wubba's are awesome!

Moose, thanks for the invite. It would be great to come dock jumping with your crew. Too bad we are way up here in western Canada a little ways away from you.

The "water wabba" that we have is great as soon as Juno sees us take it out his eyes get reallly big and he knows that we are going down to the water. Because it is a "water Wabba" as opposed to a normal one it does not squeek (which is good as he likes to rescue the squeeker out of any toy that has a squeeker in it) and it is made out of neoprene like a wet suit is made of. It's not the strongest there is already one little rip in it. It is definially not a "chewing" toy and we are using it only for water fetching. I think that the regular wabba is built a little stronger. It is still a great toy.

Thanks for the encouragment regarding the dock jumping we will keep trying and maybe try to find another dog or maybe a kid at the beach to help lead him in he sure doesn't like to be left out.

Now isn't the week after vacation always a let down and a little depressing for both people and dogs. I guess that is what makes us all dream for retirement......a ways off for us I'm afraid.

Retirement is not all its cracked up to beMy hubby has 1 year, 4 months, 18 days, & 11 hours until mandatory retirement, but we're not counting There are just so many decisions to make. We have our place up north here & also a lake cabin south of here. .Do we stay here keep the cabin a cabin, sell here build new house at the cabin, sell house here & go to a temp job for 2 years at the Border Patrol Academy in New Mexico & be totally debt free AHHHHH, it makes my head hurt any ways, Ruger loves the lake but he won't jump off the dock, he will run to shore & then swim out., even when Annie was here she would jump off the end but not him.

Great pictures. They always say a tired dog is a happy dog or is that a happy owner.

I'm going to have to get one of those Wubba's for my girl's.
