I like to de-worm everyone twice a year and now that I am 100% positive my female is pregnant I am wondering if anyone knows of a good de-wormer for the roundworm, hookworm etc. that can be used on pregnant dogs?
I called my vet too but they have to check and let me know. Thanks!
Our Vet put Rocky on Interceptor for heart worm that I give him on a monthly basis. It also protects against hookworm, round worm and whip worms. So Rocky has worm protection all year long and no need to do separate worm medicine. Rocky goes for his yearly physical friday and I will ask my Vet if interceptor is safe for pregnant dogs and if not what is safe? Interceptor other name is milbemycin oxime. In the past Rocky was on Heart Guard monthly worm medicine, but our Vet changed Rocky to Interceptor cause it covers more worms . So far his yearly stool sample has tested negative for worms.
