I hope no one minds for my off topic brag

I am very involved in 4-H and yesterday was our county dog show and my youngest daughter Kaeli cleaned up

1st place in showmanship with a perfect score, 1st in Novice B both with her sheltie and then 1st place in Grad Novice B with her border terrier.

and for the finnaly - High Point Dog

State Fair is in Aug - she will be going in Nov B and Showmanship and Agility with the Sheltie and Rally with both dogs.

Next  year I am hoping she will work with one of the shorthairs

That is pretty awesome Heather and as GSP said, an excellent example for her friends and schoolmates. BIG CONGRATS and wishing the very best of luck for the State Fair! I hope my 2 girls will take to Showing and Hunting the dogs when they are old enough!

Money will buy a fine dog, but only kindness will make him wag his tail.

Thanks Bruce!
it defintely keeps her out of trouble - she is too busy, she loves showing and training although her sheltie is a little too easy and she has been slacking. I ran Homer last night in agility with my 4-H kids - Homer was jumping 4x higher then the jump bars were set but he was enjoying being a show off LOL How old are your girls? Kaeli is our youngest and last at home - the other 2 did juniors as well and middle one 4-H she (Steph) still comes to shows once in a while to help out, I bet after she gets married next year she will be getting a show dog - I just hope it is a real dog LOL
Oh and Kaeli is showing hogs the last week of July at the county level, it's been interesting specially when every one finds out that I was a city girl born and raised until about 8 years ago.

Raine turned 4 in March and Storm turned 3 in June, so we have awhile. They do already mimic us and will grab the dogs collars and lead them around, tell them to come, heel, whoa, act like they are free-stacking the dogs. Raine was leading Dalin a couple of weeks ago and told him to whoa, then walked around the side of him, gave him a good hard look and then said.... "Oh my!" Cute as heck! I can only hope, busy kids are good kids!

City gal huh? Sounds like there is some country gal in there somewhere! ;-)

you HAVE to take pictures!!!!!!!!!!

yeah I think I am a country gal at heart I LOVE it here.  I have been talking to a friend who volunteers with wildlife rescue and they may be interested in releasing some Eagles and Owls in our woods - I doubt if I will ever be inside if that happens - to busy trying to get pictures.  My dogs are very tolerent of kids even though my youngest is 15. I usually let the 4-H kids try them out half way through the year - I give them a mastiff and a shorthair to work with - I will have to take pictures next time.

I will make it an absolute point to take pix the next time I can get them to do it! It really is cute as heck! Of course, I'm pretty partial!
