So we spent the weekend in Palm Springs where the temps soared past 105 every day!  Needless to say it was an excercise in keeping cool for us and The Murf!!  When we weren't inside in the A/C we were out by the pool... and we discovered Murphy's penchant for "flying" !!!

He literally spent hours jumping in the pool and swimming after his "gough-nut" and nothing we did could keep him out of the water!  After a while he just started jumping in just to jump... it was hysterical!  If one of us went under the water where he couldn't see us...he would jump in after us (we think he was trying to save us)!  Needless to say he was one tuckered out GSP after all that fun!

Some pics of his high flying antics (after which I'm seriously thinking of finding a local dock jumping club!):

I think you do! Have a dock jumper! He has quite a stretch :)

Was this at a hotel or resort? I am still looking for a dog friendly pool...

I have no experience with dock-jumping although I would like to learn, so my opinion is not an experienced one. That said, I am quite sure this kind of natural drive to jump has to be a good indication that he should be a dock jumper!

Thanks! I think more than anything becuase he was having fun I'd like to look into delving deeper into it.

This was at an association pool in the country club neighborhood where my BF's parent's have a weekend house. Since it's the off-season out in Palm Springs there was absolutely no one in residence ....it felt like a ghost town. So we just let Murph out to cool off and run off some of his energy in the pool. We didn't see any "No pets" signs... so we figured the worst that could happen was that someone would tell us to get him out. ;)

He looks great!! I'm betting he makes a good dock dog, he sure seems to enjoy it, he'd have a blast training for it!
