Hello all,
I need your help. A young (0-2) male, intact male was found on mainstreet of my town this afternoon. He is large, heavily-ticked and roan. He was wearing an orange plastic collar with no tags and also an e-collar. He is in great shape and very friendly so we think he hasn't been "lost" long.

I live in Bigfork MN. Approx. 125 miles north of Duluth. We think we was with a hunting party and was seperated. We have contacted all authorities, vets within 50 miles and will be scanning him for a micro-chip ASAP (our vet does NOT have a scanner and the next closest is 40 miles South). He is being borded at the local vet and they can be reached at (218)743-3587

Please pass this along to anyone you think can help. Thank you!!!!!

Hey another thing you may want to look at is depending on where they got the e-collar they may be able to trace who bought it. I know our Sport Dog collar came with a registration number and we then sent our info in to them. I know as well the our tri-tronics has a number on it that can be traced in the system as to who bought it. It may be a shot in the dark but it is worth trying. If he was lost with all that on then there is someone looking for him! Keep us all posted!

Good News! The owner has been contacted and shoulding be comming today to get their dog. I think the vet might have used Moose's idea to locate the owner as we don't have a micro-chip scanner at our vet. I decided I will be writing to the various "chip" companies to see how much a scanner costs, if they ever consider donating them ect. We live in an extremely remote area but that doesn't deterr hunters so each year we wind up with several "lost dogs". And with the nearest scanner more than an hours drive away, it sure would be nice to have our own. A BIG thank you to Moose and to everyone who passed along info, said prayers or kept us in your thoughts. I'm sure last night was longest night of that little guys life!

Wow, that's wonderful news.  It's always great to have a happy ending when it comes to a lost GSP.  Good work!  I bet the owner was very grateful.

That is awesome. If the owner was locted through the e-coller that is a great testament to taht tracking system working! Thanks for letting us know. If you find out for sure how they found the owner I would love to know. Also how far away was the owner/home from where you guys found the dog??
