So there's been some talk lately about how much exercise GSPs need, and how long they stay active...

Below is a link to a video I made of Dulcie and I's little scooter trip down to the river and back today. It's only about 1.5 miles total, but as you can see the nearly 11 year old, 30 pound shred of old jerky w/ a bunged-up knee is up to plenty of pointer-tricks (including selective hearing) and is still more than happy to pull me along at a stately 7mph. The temp was about 30F and the river is mountain melt-water.

And I LOVE the part where she darts into the yard and heads over to Rogan's kennel to tease him. "*I* got to go somewhere while *you* were stuck here!" Classic! :D

(YouTube is still 'processing' the video as I post this, but it should be ready to go quickly)

That's cool.

This will probably be her 'old lady victory lap' routine from now on, as she's getting too slow to keep up with the younger dogs on our regular runs. She's a tough little dog though...

These dogs are absolutely amazing and it is fantastic that you have a victory lap tour for Dulcie.  She looked like she had a blast and then I loved the "Nanny Nanny Boo Boo I got to go and you didn't" at the end. My dogs all do that when one of them goes and the other doesn't.

Looks like she had a great day. It's pretty funny that she sticks so far to the left, even when she is the only dog in harness. :)

Yeah, she's always been a 'leftie'. :)

We noticed when she was just a pup that she would ALWAYS lie down with her right paw crossed over her left, so of course we tried switching her paws 'manually' and watched... she'd have them back right-over-left in a minute or so. If you ask her to 'high five' or 'shake', it's ALWAYS her left paw that comes up. As I noted to someone else with this comment on the video, we suspect that she's just strongly 'sided' like some people are really right or left handed/footed.

I've taught her gee-over so I can get her to the right when I need it, and she usually runs on the right so she isn't dragging everyone into the left ditch, but other than that I just leave it alone. There's no sense nagging an otherwise outstanding dog about something that is probably impossible to totally eliminate IMO.
