My spoiled rotten little girl, Julep, has transformed into a bird dog after a month with Dave Walker. She's Whiskey's faithful pal and my first dog. I've had her since a puppy. Now, she really likes birds... I can't contain myself so I have to post this one too. Gun dog training by Dave Walker.

That's great. How old is Julep? Are you able to approach while she points? These are such fun times in a dog's life. Enjoy it with her. Francine

Are you in Idaho and training with Dave or are you sending her away to Dave?

She's done all of her training with Dave Walker of Winder, GA. Julep is 17 months now. As of last month, she's steady to wing and shot. Dave got her there in about 5 weeks after she finished the one month "puppy program" (point and chase). http://walkersfarmandkennel.com Dave's also finished my rescue, Whiskey, to steady and wing shot during the same time. He'll start on his Senior Hunter tests in a few weeks. He retrieves to hand, but isn't the best backer. Good thing he's whoa broke! Currently, my new puppy, Sister, is with Dave and doing a month of field trials. This weekend she placed 2nd in her first trial! She's 7 months old and Dave started her on birds about a month ago (point and chase). My life has been taken over by shorthairs!

Better to have your life taken over by Shorthairs than booze, wild women and gambling. Still expensive but more rewarding.
