Born 2-1-2009 - our "Super Bowl" Litter! 3 males, 3 females.
It was a very harrowing day!! After the arrival of the first pup, Autumn didn't seem to want to push with her contractions and would just cry! After a couple of hrs we took her into emergency. X-Rays showed Second pup was VERY big and was lodged in the birth canal. They couldn't even move him or pull him out with forceps! So we had to do an emergency C-Section. A blessing in disguise, and Autumn must have "known" better. They found multiple tears where large pups were implanted very high up in horns. If she had HAD that "stuck" puppy and we had continued with the whelping process, we never would have known and she would have bled out and died. That pup was expired and Autumn had to be spayed to save her life, during delivery. We are devastated that there will never be more Autumn pups but are very thankful for her life and the 6 beautiful surviving pups. The "8 hrs. old" pics are on our webshots albums at:
