Not sure if this is in the right area so please mods move it if its not.
We are looking to add another dog to our house. I am looking at getting into trials now also.
I still do alot of wild birds, partridge, pheasants, ducks, geese, ruffies, and sharptails. Want a dog that not going to run on the horizon but want somthing that can stretch out and toutch far objectives. I was thinking somthing in the 300-500yrd range.
I have looked at a few Pointers (Gaurdrail and Elhew) but would really like to see whats out there before I change breeds.
My biggest concern is having a puppy here for spring break up. During this time I am no longer in the field because they shut the lease roads down to all heavy trucks. This means I am in the shop everyday allowing me to take pup to the shop with me. This start in april and generaly goes till the end of may.
Does anyone know of a breeding that would suit my needs and have pups ready to come home in april? I understand I would have to ship a pup and have no problems with that.
Thanks in advanced for all the help. |
