my pup in now ten weeks old... i plan on getting him a live quail to chase this week ..i plan on clipping the wings, should i let him catch it ??? what results am i looking for and how many days should i do this.???

I would not let him catch them.  GSP's usually have tons of prey drive and if he catches he will catch instead of point.  Make it fun and let him get excited, but I would not let him catch them.

my 10 month old will point a bird but only for a few seconds then turns right around and runs away. i dont get why he does it but im trying. any suggestions will help.

definetly dont let him catch it i have a 2 1/2 yrold gsp that is a rescue dog im not sure what if any training she has had but she likes to catch birds wich can get expensive since she likes to kill them its been hard but i think i may have her broke of it.

Life it sounds like your dog has had something negative happen with a bird such as one being launched in it's face or perhaps a harsh correction for diving in on the bird.

Very hard to tell not knowing what's been done with the dog prior.  CR


There's a reason I like dogs better'n people... .
