My poor dog Layla has had quite a traumatic month. First I took her to get spayed, then she went back 2 weeks later to get her stitches out, then she went back a week later to get a snoot full of porcupine quills removed (that was last Friday). Then, this morning, either a wasp or a hornet (I didn't have my contacts in yet) stung her on the butt and she freaked out. The poor thing kept circling, checking her behind and tucking her tail between her legs.

She also tucked herself right up next to me and became Layla the Amazing Cling-On Dog... which was OK with me until I got into the shower and she FOLLOWED me! She won't go outside if it is raining, but she sat in that shower and just looked pathetic the whole time I was in there. My poor baby has had a rough month, let's hope her rough luck has run out.

The good part of that is that I was thinking of bathing her soon, she was getting a little too doggy for my nose, but now she smells like tangerine body wash.  :P

I had to laugh at your account of the travail of Layla but feel sorry for the poor traumatized pup. At least we don't have any porcupines in the yard and the skunk that was terrorizing the neighborhood has met it's maker.

I shouldn't be laughing either since Bo seems endlessly fascinated by the wasps around and I just know that he's going to get his sooner or later.

Yeah Ava gets freaked out to but this last time the stinger was stuck and she was spinning and biting the spot and it was swollen. One of the guys told me to put vinegar on it. It worked the swelling went down and she was no longer trying to bite the spot.

LOL then they look at you like well you try getting stung by a bee and see if you don't go hopping around like me LMAO.

Poor girl! Well, bad things usually happen in threes, so maybe this is the end off her streak. I hope all goes well from here on out for you both.

Ha, Ha, poor girl, don't mean to laugh.  A while ago juno got bit by a wasp in his back leg pit and it all swelled up.  It must of hurt him because he just sat in the middle of the living room panting for hours.  He wouldn't move.  We all went outside and everything and he just won't move.  So wierd.  Nothing that half a Benedryl didn't fix quickly.

Also Reminds me of Juno's fat lip from a couple of weeks ago when the wasps were buzzing around his bone.  I came home to find him with a fat lip.  he didn't seem to be too worried about this one.  But it sure was hard not to make fun of him this time.....he got called "fat lip" for a while with this one. Oh those poor furkids.

Oh wow, that is a fat lip!

Layla hasn't had any more incidents, so I am hoping it's a things happen in threes sort of theory. :D And I laughed my butt off when she crawled in the shower with me, it was hilarious in a "my dog is pathetic: sort of way. :D

That picture it too funny!!  Hunter got stung in the rear a few times this summer. I put ice packs on him. Now if so much as a fly buzzes his backside he hauls away!! So funny!
