         vom DARZ BOR                                                Deutsch Kurzhaar

BREGON THEOGONIA

DKV NADKC Solms I, AZP II, VGP II 287pts, HN,SG

Bregon after successful duck drag

Bregon is our new prospect and is looking quite good. At 5 months old he is independent enough to enter tall grass for several minutes at a time and checks in regularly. He is learning to use the wind for air scenting and seems to have been born with the knack for tracking. He has got to be part otter with the way he handles himself in water and the passion he has for being in water. Bregon seeks the company of people, especially children and gets along well with other dogs. He has a natural love for retreiving and will retreive and hold objects until told to give. His cooperation level is unbelievable. He is pointing and holding his birds nicely for his age. We have been shooting a few birds over him and the introduction to gunfire was never an issue.

Bregon is 11 months old and force fetch has been completed. The weather is warming up amd we are looking foward to duck searches, rabbit, duck and fox drags. Bregon has been successful in 200 yard over night bloodtracks and we are expanding the distance each track. His use of nose and wind shows intelligence and drive. He has a strong desire to search all types of terrain, being bold and confident.

At 17 months old Bregon has passed his German fall breed test recieving Solms prize I. Field: nose-4,search-4,point 4; feather drag-4,rabbit drag-4;Water: blind retrieve-4,search behind live duck-4;

desire-4;cooperation-4

eyes-dark;   bite and teeth-perfect

Bregon found a liberated pheasant in the field. He handled her intelligently, making a retrieve. She was pelleted on a previous date and it is good he retrieved her.The rabbit drag posed a potential challenge,a pond only feet away,he remained focused and nailed his 350m drag. The seach behind a live duck was tricky and again he handled the water intelligently and with focus.

Sire: ATAMAN DUMA KAZANA (Czech Champion of Work)

(Nougad ze Stipek x Dumka z Czarnego Dworu)

Ataman has many working titles, Czech Republic Memorials which are considered by some to be the most difficult tests for versatile dogs.Ataman is usually the dog to take home the Best Water prize. And has Prize I in International Kurzhaar Prufungen (IKP) - DKV and received a V rating in conformation. Ataman's father is Nougad ze Stipek, amoung his working titles is the IKP - DKV along with multiple show wins.Ataman's grandfather is Atos ze Stipek, amoung his working titles is the DKV IKP and mutiple show wins.Ataman's grandmother is Orka z Czarnego Dworu, many working titles and multiple show wins.  In Ataman's line there are great czech and Slovakian hunting/show dogs.

Dam: CZAMA Z CZARNEGO DWORU

(Lux vom Osterberg x Neska z Czarnego Dworu)

To read about Czama please visit the breeder's web site:

http://www.theogonia.com.pl/

In her pedigree you see strong influence from vom Osterberg Kennel in Germany, also,Elsa vom Ludwigstein,Terz Engholms,KS Malomkozi Baron,Malomkozi Saba

Bregon finished his German AZP breed test with a prize II at 29 months old

He walked past me with the rabbit and I went over to take it from him. This giving us a 2 in manner of fur delivery. An important aspect of european hunting - delivery to hand is a must.

We recieved 4s in all other categories.

Thank you.

When buying a pup one can only hope the genetics that were bred for have made their way to the pup you choose to feed.

My fingers are always crossed.

HiHi,
Bregon is now 16 months old.He is by far an extrememly cooperative, wanting to please dog. He reminds me of a 4-5 month old puppy, except bigger, heavier and stronger. He looks at you with those eyes that just say - what do you want to do now?c'mon, let's go get 'em!
His range is typically 200' but scent will draw him out much further. He tears up the water like I never saw in a first timer and is steady to flush w/o any encouragement from me. Yesterday's training day was covered in fog and I thought it would be a no-go on all training. I asked my dear hubby to lay an extremely difficult track and I added for the first time a bell to Bregon's collar b/c of the fog. I had to restart him twice on the drag but he went into the thick fog picked up the 5lb,very wet rabbit and sat to deliver.
He is imported. We brought Bregon back with us when we returned from our trip to Poland. Only $100 added to my ticket. I will only make a trip to get a dog, just can't can't justify having shipping cost more then the dog, then is a dog really worth all that money?

Just for fun I did a 18+ near complete generation on Bregon. It is amazing how many great dogs there are. My 2 dogs are more related then I thought.

Axel Wasserschling was sure a busy dog,a s well as some other boys from great, old lines.

Thanks - it's one of the coolest categories of the test.

In black and white it sounds pretty simple but some dogs have real issues with weight and the fox in general.

There are 2 categories with a fox, the other is a 400m drag thru the forest - minimum weight allowable is 7lbs, carrying a fox that distance is tireing. I trained with a 9 and 10lber and used an 8lber for the test.

Here is the next moment taken by an apprentice:

That is a great pict. That is allot of weight not to mention that size is awkward too. Bregon makes it look easy.
