I am on the prowl for a new addition to my family.  I am looking to get a puppy sometime in early spring (end of April or early May).  I am deploying very soon so seeing and selecting a pup will be a challenge for my wife and I.  If there are breeders out there that would share pictures and vids of litters to help select a pup from birth until 6 to 8 weeks that would be wonderful.

Now that the problems are out of the way.  I am leaning towards another male,  but would like to be able to view the puppies before being tied to a gender.  I prefer large shorthairs.  Liver and brown patched and ticked is the preferred coloring for me.  Really the darker the better.  Hunting/ family breeding lines is what I am looking for.  Dog needs to be energetic and tireless in the field but managable at home also.  I am not looking for a dog that is bred for the ring.

I currently own two Charlie (7) and Laila (5).  I am a hunter however due to my career I seem to miss out on most seasons due to deployments. I am interested in continuing to train and hunt these dogs.  I also am trying to join the North Carolina GSP rescue.  My wife is also very into the breed and understands/ appreciates all of the work and responsibilities of the breed.  I feed Purina Pro Plan Performance to both of my dogs.  I have close to a half acre fenced as well as 3/4 of an acre that is not.  I spay and nueter my animals normally around the year to year and a half mark.  I have two vets one close to me for normal routine chots and checkups and my primary vet that is farther away that I use for all questions and major problems.  My primary vet is Dr.  Spindel in Clemmons, NC.  I will gladly send his email address to any breeder looking to validate my ownership record.

If anyone knows of a breeder or has a litter planned for this time period please leave a message along with a link to your website or email.  I know I am picky but my dogs are my kids and I want to make sure I am selecting only the finest.  I am not necessarily tied to a breeder close to NC I am willing to travel to the dog.  The mid west, northeast and south west are all well with in my driving range. Thanks for reading my book I hope I recieve as detailed information as I have given.

Lug,
My girl is from Fieldfine Kennels. They are in Manson, NC on I85. Some of the best shorthairs in the country if you ask me. Defintely show lines but I don't show mine and she is a heck of hunter. Personality to boot too, good around other dogs and kids.
She, or dogs she co-owns at other kennels, have a couple litters due coming up.

Lug ,
just glancing down the list of pups or future pups on here now I see some of the top bloodlines in the country listed ..and some of the great breeders I either know of or had heard great things about, suggest you check with some of the ones already listing pups or litters on here.

Thanks Emily !

Fieldfine Not only breeds exceptional show Dogs we have also bred Multiple Junior , Senior & Master Hunters ,Field Trial Placing and Personal Hunting dogs.Something perhaps many people on here do not know since they think we just breed "ShowDogs"

A Majority of our dogs are sold to personal hunters so although they do not boast all the Titles they sure can Hunt!

I would be happy to provide several references from those owners           We do complete health testing on all our breeding stock and guarantee for it as well.

Good luck to you in search for the perfect Puppy

15 years ago we bought a dog from a kennel on Long Island. O-Look Kennels. This little female was packed with FieldFine,Riverside and Cheza and other top show lines. Boy,could this dog hunt. Who knew she would turn out to be such a driven dog.It was this dog that started us and kept us with the breed.
Good luck with your search.

I will definitely take a look at field fine, but I am not locked into on breeder yet. I have been really busy lately. (Lost my grandmother to a heart attack, then had to prepare to deploy, and now am catching my team up now that I have deployed.) So all of these things have put the puppy search on to the back burner. I am thinking that I now might have a few hours to devout to research every week. Thanks for the suggestions and keep them coming.

Well, Retta just came into heat yesterday.  We will be breeding her to Doc.  The pups would be ready to go to their new homes around mid March.  All the females pups are spoken for, but will some reservations for males yet.

Both dogs have proven themselves in the grouse woods as very capable hunting companions.  Doc will be tested at the Senior level in the spring.

If you are in eastern nc...we bought ours from an outfit in Roanoke called white tail breeders. They have been doing this for a bunch of years and are awesome. We couldn't be happier with our dog. parents are on site.

I have put a deposit on a male from 6R Upland Kennels in Iowa. I researched for a long time and Chris was the only one that matched up time and quality wise.
