Hello Cj, They flush wild for the most part. Some times we had flushes in front ot the horses when the dog was working an edge or the side of a hill. Average point, probably 20 to 30 yards. We had some closer points but the birds did not hold long. They usually flushed long before we got to the dog. We also had some longer distances of pointing but we assumed that those birds had moved before we arrived. They were eventually flushed by industrious handlers. Unbelievable country. Rolling hills. You could see for miles. Several of us determined that due to the real estate we were covering on fast Tennessee Walkers, that a man on foot might get into one group of birds/day. We averaged 12 to 15 groups of birds/day. tc Terry and Janet Chandler Rugerheim Kennels German Shorthaired Pointers/Horses Las Cruces, NM 575-382-5231 -----Original Message----- From: working-gundog-request@web.whc.net [mailto:working-gundog-request@web.whc.net] On Behalf Of Cj Sent: Saturday, September 27, 2008 2:38 PM To: working-gundog@web.whc.net Subject: Re: [working-gundog] back home . . . What kind of pointing distances were you getting? Cj
