My family and I are looking to add a GSP to our family.  We are not in a hurry, more importantly want to find a good breeder in our area.  That is why I am here.  Hoping that someone can tell me who is a good breeder in the NJ area(willing to travel if need be).  GSP will be a pet so not worried about perigree so much, just want a healthy addition to family.  Look forward to your help.

Could you be more specific on the "be a pet"?
Do you anticipate Hunting any? Any competitions such as Trials, Shows, Agility, Obedience, etc... Tracking or Hunt Testing? Do you have any future intentions of Breeding this pup?
I ask these questions to make it easier to suggest a Breeder that might have what you are looking for.

If you are solely wishing for a companion in the home, Have you considered Rescuing a Shorthair from a GSP Rescue such as Mid-Atlantic GSP Rescue and giving one of those "kids" a much wished for "Forever Home"?

Money will buy a fine dog, but only kindness will make him wag his tail.

Thanks for your reply. Not looking for a hunting dog.  We are looking to hopefully a gsp into frizbee, and possibly agility.  We have no intention of breeding at all.   We have looked at the GSP rescue and it maybe an option but we also would like to talk to a breeder before we make up our mind.  I appreciate your time, thanks again.....

Contact the Eastern German Shorthair Club. Very nice people and one of the largest GSP clubs,if no the largest.

Try this...  http://www.sunrisegsp.com/

They are in New York.  We actually picked our male GSP up from the Connecticut but it was bred with their dog.  We could not be happier with this dog with out family.
