I just gradually finished switching Rudy from Science Diet Puppy to Science Diet Adult Maintenence.  The problem is I don't think he likes this new food.  In the morning (he is fed twice/day), he won't eat until the cats start eating out of his bowl.  In the evening he eats as soon as I put his bowl down because I mix it with a tablespoon of cottage cheese, which I have done since he was a pup.  On the puppy food he ate both meals as soon as I put the bowl down.  I'm wondering if I should try a different flavor like SD Lamb and Rice.  My last dog, a dalmation, ate that because he had a very sensitive stomach and that was the only thing that he would tolerate.  I think he like the taste.... he always ate when I put his bowl down.  Any advice would be appreciated!

Thank,

Amy

It could be he just doesn't like the food, but a question first. Why Maitinence? Isn't that for the over weight dogs? Or does science diet call it something else.

I started my dog on SCI.D large breed puppy and he loved it. When he was about 10 months old I switched him to their regular adult food and he hated it, then tried the lamb and rice and he would barely even eat it. I made the switches over about a week on each so I don't think it shocked his taste buds too much. I think maybe the adult stuff tastes like garbage. I have him on Pro Performance now and his head doesn't leave the bowl till the last piece is gone.
