A while back there was a GSP who started dock jumping with Ultimate Air Dogs. He made his second apperance just this past weekend and all those LAB owners better watch out!
Ultimate Air Dog Record is 25'5" and Sevens second time out he jumped and won the UAD competition with a 25'2" jump. I have yet to see pictures of him but I hope someone posts some soon on the UAD site. If they do I will get them on here as well!

Definately give us pics or more info when you find it. My mom was just talking about dock dogs last night and I told her I was surprised a GSP wasn't at the top yet, given their speed and plain ol' nuttiness. |

| This is what I am going to try to start training my new pup to do! Wish me luck that he likes to jump!! He already likes the water & can retrieve. He will be 16 weeks when I get him next week so I will try to get him in the lake some this year. |

| So far the only thing on TV is the Purinca Incredible Dog Challenge. It takes place in October and airs later in the year. I will let you all know when. We are heading to the Ultimate Air Dog Nationals the weekend of September 7-9 here in Michigan so that will be fun! |

| Seven is a pup from a friend of mine you lives near us in Crookston, MN. Seven now lives in NYC, pretty exciting!! She has the Sire to Seven & they have a litter now. Maybe more dock jumpers in the future! |

| We are heading to the Ultimate Air Dog Nationals too. Hopefully Gunther can be a last chance qualifier. If not, he'll just have to watch Jake. |

| Ultimate Air Games/Nationals is going to be at the Woods n Water Festival in Imlay City. In the thumb area....It would be worth taking a weekend trip to. Great place for hunting people and their dogs! |

We actually live outside NYC on Long Island. Seven is relatively new to the dock jumping sport, but we figured he'd be good at it, we can't get him out of the water, even in the winter and he loves to jump and catch the frisbee. We are debating about the Ultimate Air Games, we have a 2 month old baby so traveling really long distances is a bit challenging at the moment. Ok, I know where Imlay city is. We go through there about once a year on our trip to Mass. Can you bring a dog even if you aren't in the show? I think that it would be a fun experience to see. Which day would you recommend? |

Kim and Rob-
I understand the whole traveling thing may be difficult! I know one day I will meet your wonderful dog and get to see him jump big! Good luck this weekend. Remember too that there are a lot of people who will gladly step in and help with the baby! I don't think you have met Maralee and Lynnie Richardson but Lynnie tends to be the resident puppy and baby sitter! She does great with the kids and pups.
As far as what day would be best to come watch... that is up to you really. Friday is going to be packed full of dogs who don't have titles trying to get into semi-finals for Saturday. Saturday is going to be the semi finals of each division and then Sunday will be the top 8 dogs of each division battling it out to see who is going to be the top in their division. So it will be a fun filled weekend all around. Sunday will be the biggest crowds for us I am sure. |

I have been "lucky" enough to see Seven jump in person, at his first event the Rock Classic. He was simply amazing, went from Junior jumps the first day to winning Senior the next! To top it off, they tried using a jolly ball and he went over 27 feet on a practice jump! He is just wonderful to watch, and I have to say those GSP's have the most grace and the best form in the air. I'm so excited to see a GSP at the top of the sport, I don't even care he knocked out my Oskar as the top GSP in Ultimate Air Dogs!!
I really really hope Seven can come on out to MI to the Ultimate Air Games, and I hope he just keeps on breaking his own record. I'd love to see a GSP dominate the Purina Incredible Dog Challenge as well! |
