In order to increase the Judge pool for Pointing Breed performance events, the Central Florida German Shorthaired Pointer Club has contacted the AKC to arrange a judging seminar. At this time we have set aside the weekend of June 15 & 16 for Field Trial and Hunt Test judges training to be presented by Tom Maneely of the AKC.
We are in the process of establishing a location to handle this session and will have a seminar room chosen shortly. Regardless of the venue, the seminar will be held in Tampa and all materials, coffee and snacks will be provided. To cover the AKC fees, meeting room expenses and material cost we will expect to charge approximately $50/day. This fee may change as it is based on 20 registrants per day, the AKC minimum paid attendance for these events. In a straw poll taken recently at a TBVC Hunt Test it appears we have 12 interested before this email has been broadcast.
If you or someone you know would like to attend, please contact me via PM for additional information.
Note: this seminar should not be limited to only those who wish to be judges but can be an educational seminar for any HT or FT participants who wish to better understand the scoring and evaluation criteria used in these events. While we have a minimum for the event we are not limited in the numbers who can attend, so please pass the word on to all your members
