Hey guys, 

I am new to the site and will be a new GSP owner shortly and was wondering what the best way was to get your dog started on birds, specifically related to duck hunting? I know a big part is the pedigree, but I was just looking for tips on how to start him down the right path and give him the best foundation as a pup that will help him in the future. maybe some training tips or tricks that I can start with would be awesome!  Thanks, I am definitely going to look into doing that. Sounds like it could really drive a bird dog nuts which is just the way I want him. I saw some of your post (duckfever) looks like you have quite the dog on your hands, it was really impressive what you had him doing at 6 months old. I really hope to have my guy to that point by then. Did you have him formally trained at all?
