Hi everyone!  I am a proud first time owner of a gsp.  My dog (Beau pernounced "Bo") is doing absolutely amazing with his basic command training and his bird training...but i am not so much concerned with this because he is in good health everytime we see the vet, but he is 4 months old 18" and about 26#  hes extremely energetic and like I said we train just about every single day..he eats 3 times a day about 1 1/4 cups each feeding...vet always sais he looks great but I have been researching on the internet and have been seeing some bigger pups...His Sire weighs 70# and is 27", Dam is 24" and 55#..I have heard that it takes about 2-3 years for them to reach full height/weight?...Just trying to understand my dog better any help would be awesome!!

Welcome, and congrats on your puppy! I would say he sounds just fine, the food servings seem right for a puppy on a good quality food. Bella was probably a few pounds lighter at 4 months and she's female. Most of the males we encounter these days her same age, are her size or just a little bit taller. As he ages a little and becomes more active, he will begin to put on muscle that will add weight as well.
