i already have a 16 month old female GSP.  i am thinking about getting another one and would like to hear some input as to what sex to get.

My current GSP is spayed, and i would characterize as submissive, and inroverted.  I

am thinking that a bolder male dog would do the best for me and for her.  Any thoughts??

I am going to go out on a limb and say I think it has to do with the dogs personality not so much the sex. I say this because over the years I have had all males(fixed) no issues, I have had all females(5 females & fixed) no issues and then I have had all females (4 & fixed) and had issues with one of them well shall I say being a real bitch. I currently have 3 dogs (1 male/fixed & 2 females/fixed) and have no issues at all. When I added the male I was actually looking for a female but I wouldn't trade my little guy for the world. You could get a female that is bolder than your current one or a male who is just like your current dog. It all has to do with personal likes. Have I confused you even more:)
