If you can make out that ridiculously small photo, that's Nixie watching Harry Potter with my nephew and I. She is utterly fixated on TV's. Does anyone else have this issue? It's hilarious but she's been doing it now for almost a month and I thought surely she'd get over it...I can bring treats and her favorite toys and she'll give me a quick glance that says "yeah, right!" and then just follow the images again. If anyone's been through this and has suggestions I'd greatly appreciate it!
watching a video of herself I was playing on the TV to show family. Watching a weave pole competition. She was absolutely glued. Only certain things on the TV catch and hold her attention, though. I had a Yorkie once who was pretty obsessed. He would bark like mad at Bull Riding or Project Runway (when people walked down the catwalk). Just teach her not to sit too close lol J/K. If it really bothers you, maybe try training focus without the TV on. Once she is really doing well in focus exercises...try adding the TV. We all know focus is something that a GSP can always stand to work on (or...wait...is that just mine? lol). If she is glued at any particular time and you want to break her away without being overly obvious...maybe recall her from another room and continue a training session in there. If she really is obsessed...she'll probably just run back to it once you're done. But...it's worth a shot to try and keep diverting the attention. What a hoot she is!
Watching a bird training DVD. I hope he got something out of it!
I swear, his eyes seem take a lot more in compared to our brittany.
Hillarious!! These pups are SO CUTE!! Mine are not into TV that much, but ONCE, we were watching a TV program called "Wild Russia," and they went nuts over the birds flying off! They were pointing the TV and when they flew off, they went nuts because they couldn't get at them! Wish I had gotten that on video!
My youngest GSP Java will watch the TV if there are bird sounds. Sometime she will also look at it if there are dogs barking.
My border collie thankfully does not watch the TV, but do not turn on a computer. He tries to get closer and closer to the screen and then he will start drooling. Not a good combination for a computer.
Loved the video.
Roz.
Years ago I was watching some nature program showing a crow on a perch, and Chelsea crept up and pointed it. But as the camera zoomed in and the crow got bigger and bigger, she backed off! Nowadays both of mine don't pay any attention unless maybe there's a bird noise or barking.
