Belated happy new year to everyone - been having internet/laptop probs

Just thought i would introduce our wee girl (still un-named), hoping to get her in 4 weeks!

http://s1137.photobucket.com/albums/n519/peoplesndogs/?action=view&current=Hungrypup_zps01b079f1.mp4 - she's quite a feeder - this went on long after the other pups had their fill and fell asleep

Admittedly, this wee fella had us tempted (looks like he's saying "why HER and not me?") - seems like a great character but we only have room for 2!

Keely meeting her sister  Domino (from the litter before her's):

Ooooh, it's going to be a long 4 weeks  Hope you're all well x

I was walking in Devon this fall and I and my companions came to our B&B (in the middle of nowhere) only to learn that the generator was out!  Neither the owner nor us knew exactly what to do or say--could we deal with any inconveniences?  Could she still do dinner?  Would she prefer not to be bothered with us?  Did she need the money?   As it happened she had a litter of half GSP/half lurcher pups about 3 weeks old, and after we'd all sat there with sleepy murmuring puppies on our laps for half an hour, the problems didn't seem like problems anymore!

Ohhh how in the world are you going to get through these weeks? Oh, I know! Go and buy all the puppy goodies (just hide the from Keely or she'll think they are for her). That black and white sure is a cutie too. I simply don't see black white here in the states much. Your girl is a pretty one! I'm on the edge of my seat for the name :)

Me too  We're really struggling with that even after having met her!

I'm really looking forward to our first visit to pets at home - one thing i love is buying a dog bed for some reason  although she'll be getting Keely's puppy bed from last year to begin with.  I've got plenty to be going on with until she arrives seeing as it's going to be feb - need to get the garden tidied up and do some spring cleaning in the house, after all i'm not going to get the chance with two silly-sausages running around  Keely's going through a rather crazy phase at the moment, hopefully she'll get over that before the pup arrives

she's absolutely beautiful! These next few weeks weeking are the hardest I feel! You just want them home with you, yet you know how great it is for her to be with her mamma and siblings still. Can't wait to see the little girl at home with Keely!

Thanks, getting really excited but still havent decided on a name so the pressure's on!!! Now just concentrating on the logistics of having 2 around the house and the walking of 2 of them once the pup has finished her vacs. Keely's become pretty good on the lead but i've decided to get a gencon  headcollar for her for when i'm walking both of them in town for safety's sake  Any tips on walking 2 at a time?

yes my tip is hang on lol!!!! I just used a prong collar when walking both together... I only had to walk mine when we went camping cuz we have a big yard so they could run and exercise fine that way... Otherwise if we went in town to the pet store I always had someone else to help walk one...

When I walk both dogs I always have them on harnesses (I use a Sporn harness). It's the only way I control both dogs at once (esp. Bo who is 70lb and can REALLY pull when he wants to go after something).

Your puppy looks very cute. I bet you are just DYING over there to get her home :)

Thanks for your thoughts. I caved and bought a gencon collar for Keely for when i'm walking both of them. I'm working on getting her to relax while it's on so that the pup wont pick up on us "training". Aside from that, i'll probably just carry on with normal lead training when it's just the two of us walking. OOooooooohhh, 3 weeks on saturday, then all hell is going to be breaking loose in this house ha ha x

I think you will be surprised at how much having a second pup really makes life easier. They will entertain each other when you need them too. Also, if you get into a routine the additional work is negligible. Really no downside except the additional cost of having two dogs. BTW I walk 4 shorthairs together sometimes on their regular collars. You just need to keep up with training and the walking together will come. Just a little over 3 weeks to go, and counting. I know that feeling of waiting and excitement.

Thanks Bev, i remember you mentioning before that it can make some aspects easier, i had that in mind when we were deciding if and when to take the plunge, so thank you.  Really cant wait.

Here's a link to the breeder gallery - our girl is the bully who appears to be pinning down and wrestling her littermates in the top pictures lol:

I find that i'm obsessively checking the site every 5 minutes for updates

I second that having 2 does free up some of your time cuz they will entertain and tire each other out and not need you as much for that...

I find these photos so cute and funny because to me it's like a little team of Keelys in amongst the litter

I think you picked an adventurous little girl. My guess is she and Keely are going to get along great. Now you, on the other hand, may have your hands full. LOL, hang it there. Not much longer.
