Went on a two day trip out east for devil birds. First day, got into 5 coveys of chukar and 2 coveys of huns. Rowdy pointed 6/7 coveys, but only 3 were within gun range when they flushed. I managed to shoot 3 chukar and 1 hun out of the coveys he pointed within gun range. Today we hunted a different area and got into 7 coveys of chukar and 3 coveys of huns. These birds were far spookier and were flushing 100+ yards out. They had definitely seen pressure and were 2nd year birds. Each one of these birds was a trophy chukar and had obviously had a year or two of experience with chukar hunters. The last few hunts his "style" is really coming out. He has a 12-o'clock tail and looks great on point. Very staunch and he will hold point for as long as it takes for me to get there (most of the time). I was very impressed with Rowdy, especially after he made a 200 yard retrieve to the bottom of a canyon and back after spending 10 - 15 minutes searching for the bird.
