Queen (16 wks old) is still peeing in the house.  The poop thing we have conquered, thank God.  We have been  very patient on the p issue, but frustration is setting in.  Today she went to the door and barked.  I let her out and she pooped, but she will not signal us when she needs to p.  We have done the blotting with nuetralizer, putting her out each time, telling her to pp when we let her out, go aot with her, et al.  The p light just will NOT come on.  We are open to any and all advice, please.

I have been letting our 8 week old out every 30 minutes and he goes potty every time I let him out...by day 3 (yesterday) we had no accidents all day!

I think even if you let her out to go pooh you shouldn't let her back in till she pp's too!

Seems she doesn't have the concept down with pee yet. I would go back to square one with potty training. Take her out every hour or so, and after naps, play, eating. Anticipate her need to go. Also, watch her water intake as that is a clue as to when she will need to go. When you take her out, tell he to pee or whatever your command is. Keep encouraging and then reward her when she does. You may have to stay outside 10 or 15 minutes at first, but if it has been and hour or so or if she has been drinking allot of water, etc, she will eventually go. When she does praise her. Also, watch for signals she is looking to pee when she is inside. Lots of sniffing or sniffing and circling are always good indicators. Grab her and put her outside. I think if you are consistent and can catch her prior to the accidents, she will get the idea fast. Only scold her if you catch her in the act of peeing inside. When that happens give a firm no, grab her and take her outside. When she goes outside, praise. Remember every dog is different, just like kids, and some will catch on faster than others. Just be consistent and you will get there.

Thanks. Yesterday, while roughousing with her (which we both love) she stopped, looked me right in the eye and squated and peed. I yelled 'no' and put her out.

Today, we have both been at the job sight outdoors, so , no accidents in the house. Praise the Lord.

I am having the same problem with my 15 week GSP.  She is great with pooping but no signs with peeing.  trying to train my wife on letting her have unlimited water as well because it seems she is taking the lazy rout and not giving her much water so she doesn't pee.  Then when I get home i fill her water and she gulps it down and creates a lake.  Also my GSP goes p in her crate if we are not home and likes to lay in it.  I find she is hard to train on this issue but I am being patient with her.  I think its because she doesn't want to be alone.

I really lucked out on the cage cuz both of mine don't pee in it....my first gsp loves his cage it's his safe place and my second isn't really alone cuz their cages are right next to each other, though he will howl a bit.
