Ok, Queen, our 13 week old GSP will circle and circle around a Quail wing on a line and rod. The circles get smaller with each rotation until she stops about one and a half feet from it; then points. Is this normal? Because it sure makes us laugh.

If you are wanting to use her as a gundog this method isnot recommended. As you see,it encourages sight pointing and close pointing. If it's just for fun,you're doin'g fine. Francine

Agree with Pixie, pitch the wing...Get her some real quail to chase and hopefully will learn pointing from scent and not sight
