Does anyone know if it is harder to house break a puppy in the winter? I have pretty well decided to get a puppy though I'm thinking of waiting till spring because it would be easyier to house break them....does that sound right?

Yes, definitely easier in the warmer weather here in snowy Ontario!

I think too it just takes more dedication on your part in the winter. Or in our case having the older dogs to show the young ones has always helped. We got Tundra in the winter and she was our easiest to teach. Go figure!

My females picked it up way faster than the boys. Warmer weather is easier on YOU because if you go out with them in the winter you'd get cold while the pup sniffed around etc... Our litter would all go outside after a while. 10 pups running around the yard in the winter at night. Picture that. They were almost all white at that time. They blended in with the snow. I agree though with the fact that having an older dog will help teach the pup too!

we have the 3 pups that are 6 1/2 weeks old and ive been working with them and over all its been pretty easy they will go to the door and whine the hardest thing with all 3 is that theres 3 to keep track of but id say they are about 85%-90% house broken so the new owners should have an easier time finishing them up
